“Ebooks? I hate it!”… Well, there are still a lot of people to convince!
Of course, I’m not the one who said this! But I had dinner yesterday with someone who was very opinionated about the concept of e-reading. As we were talking about the first ebook being published by Le French Book (you should check it out!), this person said “too bad I won’t read it, it’s ebook only”. I, of course, asked why.
- Well, I use a computer all day, so I don’t want to use a screen to relax.
- Have you tried a Kindle? You know it uses e-ink.
- Yes, tried it. I hate it. Couldn’t see a thing.
- Oh. Then what about an iPad?
- Nah…
OK, I get it. I mean a lot of people are still attached to paper, which I totally understand. What I didn’t quite get was this person only reads books printed in big fonts because of poor eyesight. And one of the big advantages of ebooks is that they give you the possibility to increase the font-size to reach your level of legibility… Well, it means that we at Le French Book have a great number of potential readers to convince!
